HARTFORD, CT
Tyler's Aunt, Dawn Lafferty Hochsprung, was the Principal of Sandy Hook Elementary School. Ever since 2012, Tyler felt the direct effects of gun violence in America and sought to become an advocate for change. In the wake of yet another school shooting, this time in 2018 at a high school in Parkland, FL, Tyler was at an age in which he discovered the power of his voice—and knew how to use it. To coincide with the March For Our Lives Rally on Washington, D.C. organized by Parkland survivors, Tyler organized the first March For Our Lives Rally in another state—wanting people who couldn't make it to D.C. to still be able to use their voice and demand action.
Watch Tyler's emotional, live MFOL performance of his original song, "Little Princess," which he wrote with his Grandfather to mourn the loss of his aunt and serve as a vessel for her legacy to live on through.
